PCSO IS HIRING FOR AN AMERICORPS POSITION
Are you looking to make a difference? Do you have an interest in helping others? Could you use $5,730 to further your education? How about real experience in the social work field? Serve AmeriCorps through the PCSO! You will complete 1,700 hours of service over one year providing counseling and support to various groups within the LGBTQ+ community.
The position will include working with all age ranges, sexual orientations, and gender expressions in areas such as fundraising, counseling, and educating. A major focus of this position will be developing domestic violence intervention programs for the LGBTQ community and providing economic empowerment for survivors of domestic violence. All training will be provided by the PCSO and the Kentucky Coalition Against Domestic Violence.
This position is based at the PCSO Pride Center in Lexington, Kentucky and will start in September 2016. Some college or a college degree is preferred. A strong ability to teach small groups and assist individuals and families is required. A thorough background check will be conducted on all applicants.
