I am a doctoral graduate student at Iowa State University and I am conducting a study for my dissertation. This study examines sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, stressful events, and mental and physical health. Lesbians, gay men, bisexuals, asexuals, queer, and transgender people experience unique stressors. By learning more about these stressors and how they influence health, we can take steps towards improving the lives of LGBAT+ people and others. Although I’m especially interested in recruiting LGBAT+ participants, anyone is welcome to participate!

This study is being conducted with the authorization of the Iowa State University Institutional Review Board (Study Approval #14-627; 515-294-4566; IRB@iastate.edu), and is open to all individuals 18 years or older who have internet access and who are fluent in English. The study is conducted online and would take approximately 45-55 minutes to complete.

AVOL’S Lexington AIDS Walk & 5K Red Ribbon Run will be Sunday, April 10th at Coldstream Park.
The Lexington AIDS Walk raises important local financial funds in support of the 3,000 or so individuals in central and eastern Kentucky living with HIV.

Pride Community Prom Planing Committee Meeting
Are you interested in helping to plan the 2nd Annual Pride Community Prom? Come join us as we need help planning the theme, decorations, flyer, music and food. We also need your ideas and thoughts on ticketing, marketing and sales.
