8th Lexington Peace Fair

image005BCTC’s Students for Peace & Earth Justice invite you to participate in the 8th Lexington Peace Fair. This day of peace brings together people and organizations in our community working for social and economic justice, building ecological resilience, preserving nature, teaching peace, and creating a more diverse and beautiful community.

While BCTC is not able to provide funding this year, we are grateful for the use of the space, the help of maintenance staff (including the use of the college’s tables), and encouragement.

If you’d like to have space at this year’s festival, please read the information that follows and complete this form.

If you plan to sell baked goods, please let us know because we have to get permission from the health department. If you plan to sell anything (homemade, fair trade, local), please consider donating some part of your proceeds to a worthy cause.

Central Kentucky Council for Peace & Justice is hosting a “Peace is Possible” contest for K-12 students. That flyer is attached here.

Also consider reserving one of the new specialty license plates for peace.

The final design was approved in November. The sponsoring organization, Central Kentucky Council for Peace and Justice, has until May 29th to get 900 reservations for the plate. Once that happens, the plate will go into production. As plates begin to be purchased, $10/plate will come back to the council for statewide K-12 peace education.

The reservation form and a brochure about the plate are attached here. Please help us get to 900, so this beautiful message can start making its appearance throughout the state and beyond.

Thank you so much for considering being part of this year’s peace fair, and for reserving your Kentucky peace plate.
