Several of the school GSAs do not yet have advisers for this year. We might encourage teachers to become advisors in their school if they knew there was a volunteer from the community willing to help. We have training materials on how to start a GSA, how to attract new students, how to lead meetings and so forth. We also have discussion guides, team building games, DVDs and other materials.
Volunteers would need to have time in mid-afternoon to visit schools. Or idea is to have people willing to visit a specific school frequently in the fall and then periodically during the school year.
